The Cavalier card depicts the symbol of a person wearing a riding hat and coat, and riding a horse. Presumably this person is male, but it is left ambiguous by various different illustrations on the card. The card symbolizes news, and can bring up visions of days in the past where elaborately dressed riders delivered important news on horseback. Have you ever felt that feeling where you know that something is about to happen? You may not be able to explain why you have that hunch, or intuition, but you are certain that something will be happening soon. In the olden days, where news was delivered via messenger or carrier on horse, people would wait by their windows until they were aware of the approaching gallup on rocks and pavement. Certainly when they heard that noise, they either became excited or dreadful, and rushed to look out the window to see who was coming and what kind of news and tidings they bode. Keep in mind that this image of someone riding the horse is someone in motion, so the news, like any news being worth mentioning, involves something or someone changing. While it can move forward or backward, generally horses and riders do not run backward, so this change should be positive and optimistic. It may signal a change in career, a pending move, a new baby, or the beginning of a passionate love affair. In a quite literal way, it might mean our legs will walk or run towards the change, or it may be symbolic of us moving in the right direction, quickly.

The number one is so important in our culture. It could have divine reference and be used to depict our Lord or God, depending on what religion we follow. It may symbolize the President, Governor, Mayor, or leader of a country or city. It may be a Principal, teacher, or educator, or some kind of boss. It may symbolize the head of a family, tribe, or community. In sports, number 1 is the very best and the team leader, or player that all other players strive to emulate. “One” can mean first, or best, or a combination of both. The alpha, the beginning. Surely, someone who is number one either has the ability to see the future, or is smart enough to have an idea that something is about to happen. In this case, number one likely refers to the fact that the news will directly affect the person who is number one in your life, meaning yourself. It could also mean that the news will revolve around something very important to you. It might signify something that is happening quickly, or prominently in your life. Typically, the number one signifies one minute, one day, one week, one month, or even one year. It could even be trying to represent the month of January, the date 2021, or the time of 1:00PM. 1 can also be our expression number. Have you ever heard of your expression number? This is a number that is derived from the letters of our full birth name, and reveals the talents, abilities and shortcomings you hold in this lifetime.

The cross road could be a fork in the road, a place where the path is unclear, a marking on a map, or any other kind of junction or turning point. This card indicates that you have reached the point in your life where there are multiple options and a decision needs to be made. Literally, it may be referencing a trail, path to your home, favorite exploration spot as a child, or some kind of local trip or walk you enjoy. It may also mean a driveway, highway, road, or passageway that you frequent that is important to you now for some reason. It’s important to notate that this generally indicates a path or trail that is close to home. Within walking distance or a short day’s trip of driving distance. The ship or bird indicate much further distances, the path is local. It may even refer to your own body, or what’s inside. As it pertains to your health, the path card could be referencing that you need tests, or that you have conflicting results. You may have a second opinion from another physician or specialist. You might have conflicting treatment options and you may be confused about which course of action is best. This could be frustrating as our health is obviously very important but medical advise and diagnoses are often hard to understand and wrap our minds around. Typically the path happens within 2 months. The most important thing to understand about the path is that it is your decision, and yours alone, and it is the grace of your free will that will allow you to make this decision. It will be a difficult one, so do not look upon it lightly, but it will be one that will set you free and a slow you to see life from a completely different perspective. It will allow you to lead a plentiful and abundant life, and one that could provide you joys that you never knew you dreamed of.

It’s interesting the the time frame for the path card is generally and commonly 2 months because the number associated with it is 22. The number twenty-two is a double, and is often just as lucky as eleven and thirty-three. It is interesting that 22 is associated with the crossroad, because it’s exactly that. Made up of 2 number 2’s, that are both paths that seem the same but are different, especially when you combine them. This number could be referring to a timeline of 22 minutes, 22 days, 22 months, or even 22 years. It may also be alluding to the 22nd hour of the day, which is 10:00 PM. 22 is the atomic number of Titanium, which is long thought of to be one of the strongest metals. Your decision should be strong and sturdy.

Because the Cavalier card can refer to news or a hunch, and the Crossroad card can refer to a new path or change of pace, these two cards together means that you have a gut feeling about a path you are on. You may need to change that path or begin a new chapter in your life. You could have a gut feeling that something isn’t right about a place or that you should not be a part of a certain group that may lead to negative consequences to your life. The Cavalier can often be viewed as a warning card. You need to be on high alert when these two cards are together.
The Cavalier is represented by the number 1, and the Crossroad is represented by the number 22. When we combine them we get the number 23. Since 23 isn’t a single digit number, we add the 2 + 3 to get the number 5.
Five is the number of days in a standard work week. It’s the number of fingers on hands and feet. Without even one toe, we have trouble walking. Without even one finger, we have trouble using our hands. Our roots are important and our feet are the foundation upon which our body stands and grows tall. Protect them. Five may indicate 5:00, Friday, or the letter E. In Chinese culture, the number 5 represents the elements: water, fire, metal, earth, and wood.
As it relates to Lenormand cards, the card closely related to the number five is the tree. The tree is one of the most powerful symbols in our everyday lives. We see trees everywhere. It’s a yoga pose, a symbol of life, we even chart our families with trees and their branches. Trees represent earth’s circle of life. Without the soil and water from our Earth, they would surely die. Without them, animals and beings wouldn’t have air to breathe. The tree is one of the most important life giving plants in almost every culture. A tree is strong, grows tall, and is rooted into the ground. Trees are also symbolic of ritual, forest, spells, and different types of magic or magick. What a perfect number to correlate with the tree, which makes fire, drinks water, is as strong as metal, and is literally wood that comes from the earth.

This is a time for you to really listen to your gut. When you get a strange feeling, do not ignore it. You may be at a restaurant or at a shopping center and begin to feel uneasy. This is a sign that you need to remove yourself from that place. The universe is presenting you with the opportunity to change directions. Be on alert for a message that may come to you through email or letter this week suggesting a new path. Friends and family will play a large role in the delivery of your message. When invited to a party or dinner, make the effort to attend. The ones closest to you will put you in the places that you need to be.

“I will accept the invitation to spend time with family or a friend. Opportunity is knocking at my door and a journey is waiting for me. I am ready to chart new territories and absorb all of the knowledge that the universe is bestowing upon me.” Repeat this 2 to 3 times daily.
