#35 - Anchor

An anchor is a large and heavy piece of metal, in a very specific cross like shape. It has the open bottom of an ‘o” shape underneath it, and often something at the top in a circular shape for which to tie a heavy rope through. An anchor, if you aren’t familiar with it, is what stops a boat and prevents it from moving around or drifting freely on open water. When the Navigator and Captain of the ship get to their destination, if a dock is not available, they throw an anchor overboard into the water. It’s weight combined with it’s speed of water entry sinks the anchor into the mud below the water, and the ship is prevented from blowing off course. To some, the anchor can symbolize being trapped— that the boat can no longer move freely, and that it is quite literally stuck in one place, but really, the anchor is symbolic of a stable and sturdy path, that you will not blow off of unless something truly sensational happens (like a large storm, perhaps). The anchor symbolizes a good base or home. You may be locked into the correct job or career path, or you may be stable in your financial or love life. You have chosen your path wisely and you will not be deterred from this path for any reason, barring really serious or unexpected changes or events.

#35

The number 35 is the sum of the first five triangular numbers, making it a tetrahedral number. This is interesting because this shape very closely resembles the shape of an anchor. 35 is also considered a “centered cube number” which corresponds to the anchor because it keeps things centered and in place. 35 is the highest number that one can count to on one’s fingers using base 6. 35 is an age in life where most people are considered truly grown up, while 18 is the age of consent and 21 is usually the age of full adulthood, 35 is the time where people begin to be respected as good decision makers. The minimum age of the candidates in the United States (and also in many other countries such as Ireland) for the office President is 35. 35 is also the gauge of film used most often for photography. 35, like the anchor, is a knowledgeable number, and a number that makes permanent decisions, or memories permanent through things like law and photography. As it relates to time, 35 can symbolize the 35th minute, 35th day, 35th week or 35th month. It can be more specific, referring to something like May 3rd or March 5th, or the time of 3:51pm, for example. If you were looking to make an anchor decision and needed to choose a date for the birth of a child, marriage proposal, or new home closing, these would all be excellent choices for that date.

#12 - The Birds

Birds are often a symbol of freedom, or flight. Birds have the ability to go anywhere their heart desires. This may signify upcoming travel or a vacation. You may travel to a distant or a faraway land. You may be taking an airplane on this trip. The symbol of birds on your card may signify that you are moving up in the workplace, and possibly getting a promotion. You’re going to begin to spread your wings and fly. Another possibility is that you’re about to embark on a new journey or leave something or someone behind. Birds can often be symbolic of chirping, chatter, singing or verbal communication. They can represent traveling in packs, or friendship and companionship. It could also indicate that you will soon hear from a sibling or siblings. It is rare that we ever see a bird travel alone. Health wise a bird card may indicate a problem with the vocal chord or voice box. Birds are often symbolic of the color blue, as in bird’s egg blue, or Robin’s blue, or sky blue. A bird may indicate that you will have an upcoming debate, conversation, or verbal negotiation with someone. This may be a televised interview, or may even be a job interview. It may be some kind of deposition or meeting with an attorney, or may be a meeting over coffee or lunch with an old friend. Either way, you can expect that there will be lots of talking and question asking at this event. Birds are not shy about using their beaks, and chirping away, and in return they are able to fly wherever it is that they would like to go. Birds are often thought of as a superstition, but a good one. While bats bring mystery and lurk in the darkness, birds always bring news and opportunities.

#12

The number 12 is a common number that usually refers to a dozen of something. A dozen eggs is a good example of where the bird symbol and the number 12 link up, as eggs come from birds, and birds come from eggs. 12 is a superior highly composite number, and is divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 6. Twelve is often used to represent time, as in hours of the day, or months of the year. Twelve could refer to 12am or 12pm, the time 12:12, the 12th day, December, or could reference the entire year (all twelve months). There are 24 hours in everyday, divisible by 2, and 12 hours in every half of a day. When we get to 12 am or pm, rather than continuing on to 13, we start over again at 1 and count upwards again until 12. Interestingly, twelve is the largest number with the single syllable name. Meaning, that like the bird, the name twelve itself is very efficient at communicating. Twelve is an important number in the bible. Jacob had 12 sons and Jesus had 12 disciples. There are 12 days of Christmas, from when the baby Jesus was born to when the three wise men discovered him and were able to gift him gold, frankincense, and myrrh. There are twelve basic hues in the primary color wheel.

Anchor + Bird

These cards, at first glance seem extremely contradictory. The anchor is a card designed to keep you in one place and the birds remind you of your freedom to fly away. Though they seem unrelated, they are very much so connected -- without stable roots you cannot successfully travel. In order to take a vacation, your finances need to be in order, your work needs to be caught up with plans for someone to take over for you in your stead. You also need a home base to return to, otherwise your trip becomes a nightmare.

It’s important to note that the color blue may play a prominent role, as both the anchor and bird cards are represented by a variety of blue shades.

Numerology

The Anchor is represented by the number 35, and the Bird is represented by the number 12. When we combine them we get the number 47. Since 47 isn’t a single digit number, we add the 4 and 7 to get the number 11. We must then add 1 + 1 to get the number 2.

The Number 2

The number two can represent two people, like luck in love. It may also be used to indicate the month of February, the day of 2 or 20 or 22, or the time of 2 o’clock or 2:22, more specifically. It is not surprising that 2 is the month that is luckiest for two people in love, which holds the holiday of Valentine’s Day. Two can mean a pair, and can literally refer to cards and poker, but less literally be addressing the time frame of upcoming luck, or that your riches (or problems) will double. In a simple way, most people believe that their lucky numbers will bring them riches through a literal sense, and most likely through gambling. These people may try to play the number on a roulette wheel, buy a lottery ticket with the lucky number, or make a bet on an athlete or race horse wearing the number. However, the lucky numbers divined for you can and should be taken much further. You can use these numbers for your wedding date, grand opening date for your business, even as some form of your new home address. You can use your lucky number as a number, or can convert the number to a letter- for example, A could be represented as the number 1, and B could be represented by the number 2, C is 3, and so on and so forth. You can make sure to pump only your lucky number of gas, for example, as well, like $22.22, to increase your fortune on the road.

As it relates to Lenormand Cards, the card that applies to the two is the clover, another universal symbol for luck! The clover card depicts the symbol of a three leaf clover, four leaf clover, or sometimes an entire patch of clover. We’re used to seeing the symbolism of clover in our society, so it should be no surprise to you that this symbol stands for luck. Examples of this symbol can be seen everywhere in modern society, including Good Luck Bear, the Care Bear cartoon character that is a bear with a green four leaf clover on his belly, and just about any St. Patrick’s Day, Luck of the Irish, or Leprechaun illustration. Trefoil is another name for the clover. You can also see the quatrefoil, a four petaled clover, as an ancient symbol has been popping up throughout fashion in such brands as Van Cleef & Arpels, for example. The quatrefoil reached a peak popularity in the Gothic and Renaissance eras, both in design and architecture, but it really began to be seen much earlier, in the earliest of Mayan communities. Even then it was a good luck symbol, of rain to come, and fertile lands. This clover indicates that you will soon come across a good deal of luck and fortune. It could be referring to luck in a spiritual sense, or it could be referring to the more standard luck definition of physical assets, money, or fame.

The number 2 comes with a warm feeling around the holidays. Spending time with loved ones and the sense of togetherness requires the company of others. Doing things as a couple or going to parties with a friend or even meeting new people while receiving a feeling of joy usually revolves around the number 2.

Action Items for Today

You need to make sure that you have a completely stable base, and solid anchor, in preparation for your upcoming flight. This flight may be an actual vacation or business trip, or it may be a figurative vertical move to a nicer home or within your office. The thing is, this move will be a disaster if you’re not properly squared away before it happens. Keep all of your ducks (birds) in a row, and be prepared for anything that comes your way. Put in the extra hours this week, and you will not regret it when your “trip” comes into fruition!

Affirmation

“I will work extremely hard this week and month and make sure that I don’t take any shortcuts on anything. Someone will soon be looking over my work, whether it’s a potential new partner, new boss, or someone looking to give me a raise. It may also be someone who’s taking over for me while I’m on vacation. If I work really hard, and buckle down, I will reap the rewards of my planted anchor.” -- Repeat this 2 or 3 times daily in a mirror.
