Your Jesus Message of the Day:

Holy Joy is Possible After Divorce: Get Back Your Joyful Spirit

Divorce is a difficult time of your life and it can be hard to know where to turn for guidance. But don’t worry, not only do you have me, your Lord and savior, but there are also people and resources out there who want to help you through this time in your life as well. I am your own personal therapist. And I am here to give you back your joyful spirit.

John 16:20

“You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.”

The most important thing is that you find someone you trust to talk with about what happened during the divorce and how you feel now. You need someone who will listen, ask questions, and give advice when needed. That someone is me. In this message, I will ease your negative feelings about your experience with divorce as well as remind you that you can get your joyful spirit back on track after divorce.

Divorce and Your Spirit

Divorce is not just a break-up of a relationship, it is also an ending of dreams you had for your future. I find that many people experience depression after divorce and I see you’ve been struggling with juggling life after the fact. I know that can be challenging to overcome. Some common signs of depression are insomnia or sleeping too much, fatigue and loss of energy, feelings of hopelessness or despair. My child, can you relate to any of those things? I know it because I feel it within you. It’s important to remember that you are not alone at this time in your life. The radar that is connected from you to me and vice versa is a cord that cannot be cut.

Dealing with Divorce

There is no perfect example of how to deal with divorce, but I will always be there for you. I see you are in need and so I’m here for you today. See, I have a way of restoring your joy when you have nothing left. You're not alone in this. I understand what you're going through because I have faced challenges too.

It can be hard to know what to do after your divorce, but don't worry, life still goes on and the world still turns. Are you breathing now, my beloved? Take some deep breaths and count the things you are grateful for now. I know what pain feels like and will help you get through this difficult time in your life by giving you peace and joy again. There are so many other avenues to find it in. Whether it’s your children or your family members far away, or art and music. This is a time for finding me in yourself and expressing it freely.

Your Support System

This can be a difficult time and it’s not always easy to open up. But I am your support system and I will listen to you, ask questions, and give advice when needed. When you follow me, I am on stand-by when you need me. I want to work hard and help you overcome this life-changing event.

Sometimes people change, and it’s not your fault. Whether you want to change with them or not, or whether they changed without you on board, never blame yourself for the unexplainable things. Turn to me, Jesus, as I have the answers to the questions you may have been asking yourself.

Divorce is hard on individuals, and especially on children. It’s important that you speak life into your children by reminding them of God’s faithfulness in your marriage and your everyday lives. Your children need you to model what a healthy marriage looks like while they are going through their parents’ divorce too. Keep in mind that you don’t want them to have a skewed view of holy matrimony.

The Lord says To Get Back Out There

The Lord says to get back out there, but don’t forget yourself. That’s really the only message I want to give. You need to take care of yourself during this time. You need to take care of your mental health and your physical health. If you do not then you will be sunk before you even start to move forward on your new life journey. However, your journey does start with me. Coming to me in times of need is number one. There is no need to stay cooped up in the house and mope, no. This life is meant to be celebrated!

You will know when you’re ready to find the right partner for you after divorce. There is no time limit to how long it will take, but trust in my words: I have someone special in mind. I will not reveal it to you in a way that you expect, but you understand that I want the best for you.

Your Shoulder to Cry On

I am the one who offers the most comfort after a divorce. When you have me in your life, you will have someone to turn to when you feel down. I encourage divorcing Christians and non-Christians alike to find this shoulder of support during their time of need.

John 16:33

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
