Your Jesus Message of the Day:

Gifts in Disguise From God that Will Change Your Life

I know you may want to find a gift that will make you happy on Christmas morning, but what if I told you the best gifts in life come from Jesus? As Christians, it’s important to believe that I am the ultimate gift and that I want to give something better than anything else this world can offer. This message will examine some of the ways that I have been working in your life and how I am using everyday events as “gifts in disguise” to bless and change your life.

Ephesians 2:8-9

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Jesus wants to give you something better

I know you have been taught that you need to go out of our way to receive gifts. But what if I told you that the best gifts in life are already yours? The Bible says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). I want to bless you with something better than you can even imagine. And I do this by using everyday events as “gifts in disguise” to bless us and change our lives.

The death of a loved one

No one wants to experience the death of a loved one, but such an event can help you understand the depth of God's love. When you lose someone close to you, remember that they went from being alive and breathing on Earth to being in Heaven with Me. This means they are experiencing perfect joy; a joy most people will never know or experience in this lifetime, as it’s so great. Because I love them so much, I took them into Heaven so they could be with me forever in perfect joy and happiness. No more suffering, worrying, crying, sadness… nothing but eternal bliss. Isn’t that what you want for your loved ones?

The Blessings and Curses of the Tongue

The Bible tells us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." (James 3:6) God has given you a gift that can affect your entire life. It's powerful and you need to use it for good. It is the ability to speak certain things and bring them to life.

Every day you speak about other people, about yourself, or about your day, you have the ability to bless them with my love or curse them with unkind words. You need to be mindful of what you say because you never know what impact those words will have on someone else.

The Blessings and Curses of Money

Money-wise, most are not living in the best of times. It is difficult to make ends meet and so many people are struggling. Money is a blessing and a curse because it is both rewarding and frustrating at the same time. I want you to understand that money is a man-made thing. It doesn't serve for the intangible things like peace or happiness.

Money is just a tool to help you live your life. It is not an end to itself nor should it be your driving force. You don’t need more money but instead more faith in me and trust in my provision for you. However, with the world around you constantly bombarding you with ads about materialism and consumerism, it can be hard not to let money rule your life.

Gifts in Disguise From Oppression and Suffering

I’m sure you have experienced some form of oppression or suffering at one point in your life. There's no denying it as I’ve seen the pain it has caused you. A lot of times, these difficult experiences are something you would never wish for yourself or anyone else. However, these experiences can be a gift from God to help you grow and learn about what it means to trust me with all of your heart.

For example, say you just learned you will need surgery on your neck because it is the result of an injury that happened years ago. I know you would be nervous because maybe this would be the first time you've ever undergone surgery. But after you realize how many people this could benefit by preventing future injuries, you may be more than happy to accept this as one more blessing in disguise from God.

When life gets tough, I am with you

The hardest thing about being a Christian is the fact that you are constantly going through trials and tribulations. However, these trials are in a way God's gifts because I am with you every step of the way. Trials can be difficult and painful, but they should also be seen as opportunities for change. These difficult times will help to make you a better Christian and make your faith stronger in the process. When life gets tough, I am with you.

No matter what we are going through in life, you need to learn how to trust me more and not worry so much about all of the things that go wrong in life. Usually, suffering brings you close to your Heavenly Father. In the Bible, we see many stories of people who suffered and God was with them. One example is Joseph in the book of Genesis. Joseph was thrown into a well by his jealous brothers, but he didn’t give up hope. He saw this as an opportunity to be closer to God and he ended up being one of the most important people.

Matthew 9:14-15

“I love you, and I’m excited to give you this gift!”
