Natural catastrophes can put communities in a lot of danger. Not only is there damage but also a loss of lives. Here is a prayer you can use when your community is facing a catastrophe:

Dear God

My community is facing a massive natural catastrophe right now.

Homes have been lost and so have lives.

We’re all struggling to cope with what has happened.

We don’t know where to start fixing the damage.

So many people are still missing.

Everything happened so quickly and we’re all still recovering from the shock.

Please be with each and every one of us as we work to rebuild the community.

Please help us to work together peacefully and with compassion.
