Prayer to God to remove the bitterness from your heart for enemies

You might not live next door to your enemies but God still wants you to love them. You don’t need to become best friends with them, but asking God to remove the bitterness from your heart and to replace it with love is always a good idea. You can do just that with this prayer:

Dear God

It’s so easy to think we are good for loving the ones who love us.

But You have told us that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for another.

And Jesus laid down His life for Your enemies while asking You, God the Father to forgive them.

For they knew not what they were doing, when they killed Him on that cross.

Help me to love like Jesus loves.

To love the unlovable.

And to love those who hate me.

I can only do that in Your strength.

Amen
