#26 - Book

The book card conjures up the image of a book, usually lying open to halfway and on it’s spine. Books are all about knowledge and information -- to read one makes you smarter and more educated. Visiting new lands, thinking new ideas, dreaming new dreams, meeting new people and absorbing new customs and cultures are all possible either through imagination during reading or through actually learning new skills and new ideas that will take you to a new place literally, in the first person.

The book card generally references information or knowledge, but it could also be referring to a diary or journal, filled with secrets. This book may be the key to a hardship you have been facing in the present. It may also be indicating a newspaper, project, audit, diagram, textbook, or any kind of paper filled file that could help you. It could reference a research journal, periodical, magazine, or anything that has words on paper. You may have to think outside the box on this one, it might not be an actual book. It may be talking about school, your program of study, or some kind of report or project. A book could even be referring to magic, like spells, or the occult, or even decks of cards or tricks. Location wise, a book could be referring to a library, bookstore, school, college, or some kind of study. Any place that is quiet or that you do work. Anyone you work with, like a study partner or work mate, could also be the meaning behind the book card. Health wise, this card could be referring to your brain, memory, knowledge, anomia - the condition of not being able to name things, or any type of condition or testing revolving the brain.

#24 - Heart

The heart card pictures a heart or hearts, and non surprisingly, has to do with love. From childhood we learn that the heart can be colored red or pink, and can be drawn into the shape of a kind of oval with a pointed bottom and a dimple on top with two symmetrical sides. We are taught how to draw it, cut it out, trace it in every way imaginable, even though that shape that we learn is not at all similar to our real biological heart. Despite the shape’s misgivings in biology and history, it’s a very powerful symbol, and just looking at it garners feelings of love, adoration, and affection. A teenage girl may doodle hearts in her school notebook when thinking about her crush, while a 99-year-old man may sentimentally gaze at the heart on his wedding band or locket, remembering his life long lover. A heart symbol is universal. It is recognized by all ages, races, religions, and cultures. A heart could also be referring to your literal heart. You may have heart issues, or issues with your blood vessels, veins, or arteries. You may be a candidate for organ transplant. You might have some kind of circulation issue or anemia or blood problem. It also could refer to something pink or red in color.

Book + Heart

Because the Book card typically refers to the law, or something written, and the Heart card can refer to love, or two hearts uniting, these two cards together can mean the hearts uniting on paper. It could symbolize an upcoming marriage license, or formal ceremony -- perhaps a vow renewal. The book and heart can also symbolize something else legally related to love. It could be a separation, a divorce, or even a restraining order against a lover. Finally, this may mean some kind of medical paperwork provided regarding your actual heart.

Numerology

The Book is represented by the number 26, and the Heart is represented by the number 24. When we combine them we get the number 50. Since 50 isn’t a single digit number, we add the 5 + 0 to get the number 5.

The Number 5

Five is the number of days in a standard work week. It’s the number of fingers on hands and feet. Without even one toe, we have trouble walking. Without even one finger, we have trouble using our hands. Our roots are important and our feet are the foundation upon which our body stands and grows tall. Protect them. Five may indicate 5:00, Friday, or the letter E. In Chinese culture, the number 5 represents the elements: water, fire, metal, earth, and wood.

For this week to be a 5, it means that this week also is elemental and vital to your success this month and year. While last week was a week for you to complete unfinished business and open your heart to new opportunities to come, this week is all about coming together and spending time with friends and family. Do not let your home fall by the wayside while you work long hours at the office. Don’t neglect your husband or wife and children as you meet new people and complete new goals. This is the week to step back from the intense work you’ve been doing, check in on the homefront, and establish social connections. Have a little bit of fun, but make sure your roots are squarely planted and that your relationships are where they need to be.

As it relates to Lenormand cards, the card closely related to the number five is the tree. The tree is one of the most powerful symbols in our everyday lives. We see trees everywhere. It’s a yoga pose, a symbol of life, we even chart our families with trees and their branches. Trees represent earth’s circle of life. Without the soil and water from our Earth, they would surely die. Without them, animals and beings wouldn’t have air to breathe. The tree is one of the most important life giving plants in almost every culture. A tree is strong, grows tall, and is rooted into the ground. Trees are also symbolic of ritual, forest, spells, and different types of magic or magick. What a perfect number to correlate with the tree, which makes fire, drinks water, is as strong as metal, and is literally wood that comes from the earth.

A card with an image of a tree indicates that you are beginning to spread your branches. It may symbolize a baby that is about to come and that your family is beginning to grow. It may even symbolize multiple babies, children, or twins. A tree may also indicate that you will begin to branch out in your career and in the professional sense. You may be about to step out of your comfort zone and begin accepting new challenges. Additionally, a tree could mean that you need to take a look at the life you’ve built and make sure the roots are sturdy. Do you have a water source that is not the clearest? Have you been true to your faith and yourself? Is your root system strong? Do you have a friend that is untrue?

Tyler Perry is a famous actor and comedian based in Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up, he was raised predominately by southern African-American women, and that’s who many of his characters are based upon. His most famous character, Madea, who is played by himself dressed in women’s clothing, is a combination of everyone’s mother and grandmother. Madea says that friends and relationships are like trees. Some friends, Madea says, are like leaves. They drink our water and hang out on our branches, but they’re gone with the wind. We have thousands of those types of leaves. Some friends are like branches, they’re there for the majority of the time but when things get rough and the storms come, they’re breaking off. We have a couple dozen of those. But our true friends, our brothers and sisters, are our roots. They come few and far between, and they’ll never leave us no matter what happens until our dying day.
