The truth is never far away, but it must always be found and used, because lies are not where we should be spending our time and our energy.
When I feel lost or confused, I, Abraham Lincoln, find a great deal of comfort in my quote: I planted myself upon the truth, and the truth only, so, as far as I knew it, or could be brought to know it. These words show a huge belief in the power of truth as the only real way to progress and what keeps me rooted to what I feel in my heart to be honest and true.
You see, the truth is the only compass that can guide us, including you, through the maze that we call life. It is not something we say to pass the time, or to keep people happy, but it is how we grow and develop. We do that in our truth, not in our lies. The truth stands and never changes, because it knows what it is and it knows it is going to be known by all someday.
To plant yourself upon the truth means you might have to defend yourself. Are you okay with that? If someone came along and told you that you were wrong, would it tempt you to move away, and go with them? These winds blow from time to time, but in planting yourself, your roots will hold you steady.
Proper progress, my friend, is not possible without truth being at the root of it. Those roots hold everything you know, and justice too. It all grows from you. Find that ground for your truth to lay, and make sure nothing can rock it, because only then will you be able to build your empire of truth upon it.

The journey of knowing and owning your truth can get tough sometimes. It needs you to find courage – the courage to face uncomfortable things, even if they are what people say about you, or to you. You must keep your head up and not listen to them, as they are trying to pull you down. It is in this courage you can prove to yourself and others that you are not someone to mess with.
The truth will set you free, so you must find ways to plant yourself there how I do. It isn’t about refusing to move anywhere else; it is about growing up in a healthy place and remaining there. Those who believe in their truth, who plant themselves upon it, find themselves not only proving themselves right, but also as champions of honesty.
Allow yourself to be totally committed to the truth. Keep that knowledge in your head and your heart, and make no mistake, the truth is going to set you free in the end. You won’t have to persuade anybody ever again, because it will be there for everyone to see.
“If you say you are holding the truth, then you must keep being honest with yourself and others and keep the truth close to you. Sometimes, it’s all we have.”
The Abraham Lincoln quote, I planted myself upon the truth, and the truth only, so, as far as I knew it, or could be brought to know it reveals how important it is to always be honest, kind, and true. It is the only way someone can make progress and keep reaching for the stars. Knowing and owning your truth involves sticking to your values and standing up for what you believe in. The truth always comes out eventually, and those who believe in their truth are always the ones others look up to. It is a reminder of the constant power of honesty, and how staying committed to what is right will see you winning and giving you so much joy. It is to keep searching for the truth, even when you feel like giving up, because the truth is where you need to be and stay.
I stand in the truth, for it is in truth that you find great progress.
